Surrounded by eight LCD monitors, sits Ranjan Chopra, Director of Delhi-based TEAM Computers, in what he calls the ‘CXO Cockpit’. The 46-year-old says the cockpit gives him an aerial view to any information on his company at a click of a mouse. He can monitor calls, analyze engineers’ performance and check the productivity of his people across regions. Chopra’s vision isn’t set on traditional benchmarks that measure growth in percentage terms. |

| Even as an employee, he operated like an entrepreneur, taking risks and scouting for opportunities. Ranjan Chopra’s attitude as the head of Team Computers remains the same today.
Every entrepreneur needs an eye for opportunity and the ability to take calculated risks. Even as a schoolboy in 1960s Calcutta, Ranjan Chopra looked for ways to supplement his allowance. And, he started taking business risks while in his teens. As the CMD of the Rs 135 crore Team Computers says, “There is risk of some sort in just about every decision. I took risks but had faith in my capabilities.” |
